Brent Lang

Brent Lang has worked in journalism, politics, and public relations.

He served as Communications Director for U.S. Sen. Lincoln Chafee’s 2006 re-election campaign, one of the most closely watched political races in the country.

From 2007-2008, he worked as the Communications/Development Officer for the Brown University Library, where he helped oversee a $35 million fundraising drive to modernize library facilities and collections. His public relations initiatives are featured in an upcoming article by Eric B. Bartheld for the Association of College & Research Libraries on staffing and sustaining the library of the future.

He has also worked as an editorial intern at Forbes and at American Heritage Magazine. Throughout the past four years, he has been a freelance writer and reporter. His work has appeared in Forbes.com, Forbes Magazine, The Providence Journal, and The Block Island Times.

He is a film aficionado, a theatre buff, and a lover of the inane parlor game, Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon. He also has a quasi-religious appreciation for Bob Dylan and Manny Ramirez.

He holds a B.A. in Literature and History from Brown University and is currently a graduate student at Columbia University School of Journalism.
